Book Projects
 | HEAVY! The Surprising Reasons America Is the Land of the Free – And the
Home of the Fat (in production with Springer, forthcoming in August
2011). (This book is intended for the trade/general-audience market.) |
 | The New World of Economics, 6th edition,
with Gordon Tullock (Springer, forthcoming in late 2011). (This book, a
forerunner to many current trade books concerned with the “economics of any and
everything,” was very successful through its first five editions and five
foreign language editions. This new edition of The New World will
involve a major makeover for the new generation of young economists who may now
be unfamiliar with the earlier editions.)
|
 | The Care and Feeding of Liberals (under development
with completion expected toward the end of 2012). (In this book I will take on
the major arguments against the market system and for an expanded economic role
for government that have been repeatedly and erroneoupressed I submit) by
left-of-center academics, pundits, politicians, and journalists. |
Video Project
 | Microeconomics for Managers: An Online Video Course.
(Under development with completion expected by the end of June, 2011).
This project will involve my translating my successful microeconomics
for MBAs course that I have taught for two decades at the Merage Business
School, UC-Irvine to forty to fifty thirty-minute lectures that will be
available online through subscription. The lectures will be designed to work
well with my textbook co-authored with Dwight Lee, Microeconomics for MBAs:
The Economic Way of Thinking for Managers (Cambridge, 2010), as well as
other widely adopted microeconomics textbooks.
