Professor Emile Pilafidis teaches Management Consulting
Practicum courses at the University of California, Irvine, Paul Merage School of
Business.
He is also affiliated with the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate
School of Management at Claremont Graduate University, where he teaches
Strategy, and International Management MBA courses.
Dr. Pilafidis has served in a variety of faculty and academic administration
positions at The Claremont Graduate University and the University of La Verne.
Professor Pilafidis has also taught MBA courses overseas, in Singapore, Greece,
and the U.K.
Emile Pilafidis is an experienced general manager, having served as President of
the North America subsidiary of PMW GmbH (the German world leader in specialized
pumping equipment), as Division President of FMC Corporation’s Los Angeles based
heavy machinery business, and as General Manager of FMC’s petroleum equipment
business in the Far East, based in Singapore.
He has held a variety of other operations, business planning, and product
management positions with FMC Corporation, and started his career as a research
engineer with the Cincinnati Milacron Company.
He earned his BS in Engineering Physics at Miami University,
Oxford, Ohio, his MS in Mechanical Engineering and MBA in General and
International Management at the University of Cincinnati, and his PhD in
Strategic Management at Claremont Graduate University.
His research areas include: Management Issues in Strategic
Alliances, Management Consulting, and International Management.
Dr. Pilafidis is a member of the Academy of International Business, and the
Academy of Management.
