Kevin Zhu Biography
Professor Kevin Zhu
received his Ph.D. from Stanford
University. His research
falls in the intersection of economics, technology, and management science,
with a focus on economics of information systems, technology diffusion, strategic
adoption of technology standards, economic impacts of information technology,
and information transparency in electronic markets and supply chains. His
research methodology involves both empirical analysis and analytical modeling
(game theory in particular). His work has been published in Management Science, Information Systems Research, MIS
Quarterly, Journal of Management
Information Systems, Decision
Sciences, and the European Journal of
Information Systems, among other journals. He has won the Best Paper Award, two years in a row,
selected from 600 papers submitted each year to the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS). He recently
received the prestigious CAREER
Award for his research on digital transformation of enterprises from the U.S.
National Science Foundation - the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. Government
on outstanding young scholars who are most likely to become academic leaders of
the 21st century. He was the recipient of the Academic Achievement Award of
Stanford University, and the Charles and Twyla Martin Excellence in Teaching
Award of the University
of California (voted by
MBA and EMBA students).
