Transdisciplinary
Tobacco Use Research Center at UC Irvine

The UCI Transdisciplinary Tobacco Use Research Center (UCI-TTURC) is one
of a national network of 7 centers funded jointly by the National Institute
on Drug Abuse and the National Cancer Institute in partnership with the
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The purpose of these centers is to integrate
basic research in the biology of nicotine addiction with social and policy
research. The overall aim is to speed up the translation of basic research
findings into policy by breaking down barriers between the disciplines.
