Sanjeev Dewan is an associate professor in information systems at the The Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine. Prior to joining UC Irvine in Fall 2001, he served on the faculties of the business schools at the University of Washington, Seattle, and George Mason University.  

He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration in 1991 from the Simon School at the University of Rochester, in the area of Information Systems. Previously, he received the B.Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India.

His current research interests are in the areas of the risk and return of IT investments, business value of Web 2.0 technologies, and electronic commerce.

He is currently serving as a senior editor at Information Systems Research, associate editor at Management Science, track chair for ICIS 2008 in Paris and program co-chair for PACIS 2009 in Hyderabad, India.
